The unthinkable almost happened to the best player in the world (Ronaldo) in the run-up to the 1998 FIFA World Cup final.
More specifically, Brazilian striker Ronaldo Lus Nazário de Lima, better known as Ronaldo, went into convulsions. This occurred just hours before the match was scheduled to start. The incident occurred on July 12, 1998, at the team hotel in Saint-Denis, France, where the final was scheduled to be played.
“Ronaldo is dying!”
Ronaldo shared a room with the legendary Roberto Carlos at the time. The legendary striker informed his teammate and friend that he would be resting in his bed for a while.
