Top 10 World Richest Football Club 2022

World Richest Football Club 2022

The top 10 richest football clubs are determined by the amount of revenue they generate. Real Madrid CF, Manchester United and FC Barcelona are among the clubs that claim the highest incomes.

Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, ranks tenth, primarily because of a recent increase in income. The Premier League club earned 428,3 million euros in 2019.

Real Madrid CF

According to Forbes, Real Madrid is valued at $5.1 billion, making it one of the most valuable football clubs in the world. Forbes points to the success the team has had on the field as well as its recent deal with Sixth Street and Legends.

FC Barcelona

Barcelona expects to record revenues of €1.3B ($1.32B) for the 2022-23 financial year after the sale of 15% of its TV rights to Sixth Street and an additional deal with Socios for a 25% stake in production house Barca Studios this summer. Those deals have allowed the club to raise more than €500M ($509M) this summer.

Manchester United

Manchester United’s latest accounts show a 30 per cent increase in revenue for the three months until March 31 this year despite the club’s worst season in the Premier League era. United’s total revenue for the first three months of 2022 was 152.8 million euros ($192 million), up 29.2 per cent from 118.3 million euros compared to the same period last year.

The club earned an additional 34.1 million in matchday revenue in this period, with the coronavirus pandemic having limited matchday revenue to 1.6 million euros in the third quarter of 2021.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur is one of the richest clubs in the world. In the last financial year, the club earned over EUR400 million. This includes 116 million euros in revenue from business partnerships and merchandising. In addition, the team earned over $100 million from their broadcast rights.

The club expects to generate a significant increase in overall revenue this season as they continue to deliver consistent performances.

Liverpool FC

The wealth of Liverpool FC is immense, making it the richest football club in the world. As of 2016, it had a revenue of $1.5 billion, which is higher than the combined revenue of Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Its main source of income comes from commercial deals, including the sale of matchday merchandise and media rights. It has also had a rich history of success. In fact, it has won more trophies and titles than any other team in the history of English football.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich’s recent domestic title win has helped them to increase their overall revenue, but their poor results in the UEFA Champions League have impacted their overall income. Although the club is still one of the biggest clubs in Germany, they earned EUR348.7 million last year from sponsorships, while they also earned EUR176.7 million in broadcasting rights and generated EUR103.8 million from ticket sales.

Although the club is one of the richest clubs in the world, it’s important to note that it is not the most profitable club.

PSG

The vast amounts of money in football are staggering. The most profitable clubs churn out billions of dollars each year. But only a few are able to maintain that level year after year. The top clubs have the best players, the best infrastructure, the most lucrative partnership deals, and a fervent fan base. If you want to be the richest club in 2022, look no further than Paris St. Germain.

Manchester City

Manchester City have climbed up the list of the world’s richest football clubs. The money involved in the sport has grown dramatically over the years. The team generated EUR644.9m in revenue in 2017, with its title win and Champions League run contributing to its success. The club is ahead of rivals Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona in the list of the richest football clubs in the world.

Arsenal FC

Arsenal have dropped out of the top ten of the world’s richest football clubs for the first time in years, with a revenue of EUR85.2 million in 2018.

However, they remain within striking distance of the top ten. They have lost money for a couple of seasons, and are in dire need of a Champions League return. The drop in revenue was partially offset by an increase in the club’s total matchday revenue, which rose by EUR57 million.

Chelsea have also been boosted by new signing Eden Hazard, who has signed a record-breaking contract and increased the club’s Forbes revenue. The club has been growing commercially since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003.

Chelsea FC

The richest football clubs in the world are dominated by those in the Premier League, and Chelsea FC is no different. In 2016, the top ten football clubs reaped revenues of over EUR5.74 billion. The club’s value has risen in recent years, thanks to the growing popularity of the sport and the increased value of players.
