Pau Torres completes switch from Villarreal to Aston
Aston Villa have completed the signing of Spanish and Villarreal defender Pau Torres.
The 26-year-old defender who has 23 appearances for the Spanish national team joins the Premier League side for an undisclosed fee after agreeing to a five year deal.
Pau Torres links up with Unai Emery, a manager he worked under during his days at Villarreal.
Torres won the Europa League in 2021 with Villarreal and also helped them to reach the Semi-final of the Uefa Champions League the following year.
He becomes Aston Villa’s second summer signing after they signed former Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans on a free transfer.
