Morocco 2-0 Comoros: Brahim Diaz opens the scoring as the Atlas Lions roar loudly in Rabat

Brahim Diaz and Al Kaabi shine as Morocco defeat Comoros in Rabat

The 2025 AFCON kicked off with the host nation, Morocco, taking on the Comoros Islands in Group A.

With the home support behind them, the Atlas Lions of Morocco came into the game with the plan of winning.

Comoros Island, on the other hand, stayed resolute and compact at the back, denying the Moroccans the chance to create and score goals, limiting them to only one shot on target.

The game came to life in the second half with a goal from Brahim Diaz in the 55th minute.

Ayoub El Kaabi who was introduced in the 65th minute scored a wonder goal (overhead kick) in the 74th minute to give the Moroccans assurance of victory

The host nation will be taking on Mali in their next Group A match at the 2025 AFCON
