Manchester United’s Casemiro is injured ahead of their match against Sheffield United
Casemiro’s injury sustained during the international break will prevent him from playing in Saturday’s Premier League match against Sheffield United, according to Manchester United.
Concerns were raised regarding the Brazilian’s fitness when he was substituted late in his nation’s first international match of the month against Venezuela. Later on Saturday, he skipped training, but he made it back into the starting lineup for the Selecao against Uruguay in the 2-0 loss.

The former Real Madrid player has confirmed that he has remained in Brazil for treatment on what they refer to as a “small issue,” thus he will not be at Bramall Lane on Saturday night.
Due to his Champions League suspension, Casemiro will, at the very least, be added back into Erik ten Hag’s squad for the derby against Manchester City at the end of the month.
Scott McTominay might be rewarded with a start in his absence. The Scotland international scored twice in the closing minutes of the Red Devils’ 2-1 triumph over Brentford to give them three surprise points.
There were more positive updates on defender Sergio Reguilon and midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who were both spotted training at Carrington. Reguilon has been out for four games while Amrabat didn’t play in Morocco’s matches against Liberia and Ivory Coast.
Ten Hag is already without a number of important first-team players. Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia are recovering from long-term injuries, while players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are still making their way back from knocks and may not be fit in time for Saturday night.
Jadon Sancho is still an outcast having publicly fallen out with Ten Hag, but Rasmus Hojlund managed to escape Denmark duty without sustaining a serious injury despite the best efforts of minnows San Marino, whose players he also accused of “saying nasty things to me”.
