Kobbie Mainoo, a Manchester United midfielder, has received his first call-up to the England side for friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
Kobbie Mainoo, 18, was originally nominated to the under-21s squad but has now been upgraded to Gareth Southgate’s senior team.
England will play Brazil on Saturday and Belgium on March 26 at Wembley Stadium, their penultimate fixtures before Southgate chooses his Euro 2024 selection.
The rest of the 26-man team arrived at St George’s Park on Tuesday.
Mainoo, a United Academy alumnus, has been capped by England at the under-17, under-18, and under-19 levels.
The Stockport-born teenager made his first Manchester United start against Everton in November and has gone on to make a further 19 appearances.
He scored his first goal for the club in a FA Cup fourth-round win at Newport at the end of January, before netting a late winner against Wolves in the Premier League four days later.
After receiving their first senior call-ups, players like Anthony Gordon of Newcastle and Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton arrived at St George’s Park.
Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford, makes his debut after serving an eight-month suspension for breaking Football Association (FA) betting regulations in January.
