Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi joins Bayer Leverkusen on loan
Ghanaian-born English forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi after struggling for playtime at Chelsea has joined Bundesliga side, Bayer Leverkusen in search of a playtime.
Odoi has struggled for playing time under manager Thomas Tuchel and is yet to feature in the season.
The winger has played 126 times for the Blues in all competitions with 16 goals, 21 assists.
After several interests from clubs in England and Germany, Hudson-Odoi opted to join Leverkusen for the 2022/2023 season.
Speaking after the move was confirmed, Hudson-Odoi said: “The move to Germany is really exciting for me and I can play in the Champions League with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
“That combination is really attractive and I’m keen to get to know the club, the fans and the Bundesliga. [Chelsea team-mate] Kai Havertz only had good things to say about it to me.”
