
Mo Salah inspires Egypt’s comeback against Zimbabwe at the ongoing 2025 AFCON in Morocco
Match day two of the ongoing 2025 AFCON kicked off with the Catage Eagles of Mali taking on Zambia at the Stade Mohamed V in Casablanca.
Lassine Sinayoko gave Mali the lead in the 61st minute after El Bilal missed the chance to put the Eagles in front from the penalty spot.
With two minutes into injury time, Leicester City and Zambia’s starman Patson Daka equalized for the Chipolopolos after he dived to meet the cross from Mathews Banda.
The second match of the day pitted South Africa against Angola. The Bafana Bafana of South Africa took a first-half lead through Oswin Appollis, only for Show to put on a show and equalize for Angola.
Lyle Foster restored the lead for South Africa in the 79th minute after Tshepang Moremi’s goal had been ruled out for offside in the 51st minute. The game ended 2-1 in favor of South Africa.
Away from Liverpool-related issues, Mohamed Salah and the Pharaohs of Egypt started their 2025 AFCON campaign against Zimbabwe at Stade d’Agadir in Agadir.
The seven-time African champions surprisingly went behind in the 20th minute following a swift counterattack from the Zimbabwens, which was slotted home nicely by Prince Dube.
Omar Marmoush brought Egypt back into the game in the second half in the 64th minute after his shot found the ceiling of the net.
Just when everyone was settling for a draw, Mo Salah out of nowhere stepped up to find the back of the net for his Nation.
Mo Salah is poised to win this year’s AFCON for his country as it seems to be his last and would love to write his name among greats like Mohamed Abutrika, Hossam Hassan, among others.
